How Does Subliminal Messaging Work?
How Subliminal Messaging Works
The word, “subliminal”, itself actually explains how the process works. It means “below the threshold” of conscious awareness. In other words, you won’t be able to physically hear a subliminal audio, although your subconscious mind will be able to “absorb” the message and store it.
A visual subliminal works in a similar fashion. The message (it can be text or an image or a combination of the two) flashes so rapidly that it’s practically invisible to the eye but the subconscious mind will record it.
When we are awake and aware we can perceive the things around us but only to an extent. There are many things that are continuously occurring in the background of our everyday lives without us realizing it.
Examples of How Subliminal Audio Works:
Say you are walking down the street and you hear the people and traffic moving about around you. While walking, you hear your own thoughts, a car horn and a crowd talking. Those three things are apparent perceptions. However, you may have unintentionally listened to someone in the group state that they are going to start taking it easy and decrease their pace a bit.
You didn’t actually notice that voice stand out from the others so you didn’t take time to comprehend it either. You just keep walking on to your destination.
Once you approach the next intersection the light turns yellow. Instead of rushing across the sidewalk as you normally would, you decide to slow down and wait for the next light. Well, you have just been subconsciously affected by subliminal audio. All of this could have happened and you would never have known.
The same concept lies in purpose-driven subliminal messaging. When there is a goal or topic to be absorbed via subliminal messaging, the suggestions play in the background of the recorded track. You never notice they are there or become consciously aware of them.
After enough of this unconscious perception, the topic or goal will start to ‘unconsciously’ play out in your everyday life without any real practice or effort on your part. As with all self-help practices, however, the benefits can be life-changing.
Misinformation About Subliminal Self-Help
With subliminal messaging gaining in popularity, it seems as if every self-help expert is bringing out his or her own range of products. When something has such a buzz about it, it can sometimes be challenging to sort the truth from the misinformation. What makes it worse is that there are some silly statements being thrown around about subliminal messaging:
- That they can bring instant results
- They are completely effortless and you do not need to do anything on your own
- You can learn a language while you sleep
- You can seduce someone without them knowing
It’s a shame that there is so much incorrect information out there, as the real benefits of subliminal audio lie in its use as a tool for personal development.
The ridiculous claims mentioned above all have one thing in common: they claim that subliminal messaging will do ot all for you. This could not be more untrue. It is merely a “help-tool” that can re-focus your brain to help you accomplish an intended goal. It provides a thrust in the right direction but you still have to put in some action.
It’s simple, really – the subliminal statements gradually rewire your patterns of thinking. Little by little your subconscious mind becomes aligned with your pursuits and desires, providing you with the best chances of success.
Can Subliminal Messaging Really Help You Reach Your Goals?
If you have set goals for yourself that you are really determined to achieve, you are to be congratulated! Creating a solid plan, setting a goal and making a commitment to see it through is the crucial first step to success in any area.
When you are really committed to your goal and are serious about achieving success, you will most likely be trying everything possible to get ahead. You would be reading books on the subject, talking to experts in the field and seeking to align your mind for success in every possible way.
Some people are hesitant to ask for help or even to look for it themselves. However, this is not something you should be embarrassed about. Some of the most successful individuals in the world read self-improvement books. They try out numerous different ways to get ahead and obtain a competitive advantage.
For example, when Tiger Woods was young he was already focused on becoming a world-class golfer. He obviously put in a lot of practice but he also looked for additional resources to help him obtain that competitive advantage and sculpt his mind for success. Amongst the things he tried, hypnosis and subliminal messaging were his favorites.
Should you be serious about reaching your goals then you too should try everything possible to reach success. A proven way, as mentioned above is by using subliminal messaging. It isn’t a miracle solution, nor is it instant, and it won’t do everything with no effort required on your part. However, if used consistently, it can make it easier for you to reach your goal, and give you a competitive edge.
